Hi I’m on week 2 of the programme and although I would say I’m shuffling quickly I am enjoying it and getting faster. Since my last run and after today’s run my knees have been really aching - is this normal

Aching knees
Hi Angela1706
I had terrible aches when I first started, especially in the first few weeks, in fact, sometimes my whole legs would ache. It got better over the weeks, and I just recently graduated and now I can do my runs and no aches! I had never run before so think it's your body getting used to this new thing you are asking it to do. Stick with it, just take it easy and best wishes x
Hi Angela1706
I am no medical professional but the rule I apply to myself is to pay full attention and notice whether it is an ache or pain. The second is definitely not normal.
Aches here and there may just be a sign of the body adjusting to something new and we all have had them.
If there is no improvement or if the ache turns into pain, it may be worth checking that your running shoes are the right ones for you and for the surface you run on (this based on my personal experience).
But keep going!
I think aches are normal to begin with ( and beyond TBH!) - you could try taking an extra rest day?
If a pain persists during sessions, you should probably get it looked at.🤞
