Well that was a very sweaty one!

I was a tad naughty and ran again this evening instead of having a rest day! In my defense it was the only day this week my running buddy and I were free at the same time.

It started as a lovely after work seaside run! There was a bit of shade and a nice breeze. Then we hit the foot path closed sign and had to divert up some steps and through town. There was no shade or breeze in town ♨️

Before we knew it we were well on our way back and we hadn't had the half time bell.

Oh well we'd just run past the car at the start and walk back to it as a cool down at least we were back by the sea so there'd be that nice breeze again right? Wrong!!

The longer we ran the sweatier I got! I could feel it trickling down the side of my face. We got back to the car with over 5 min to go so we carried on. We carried on past the pub with the deck full of people enjoying nice cold drinks. By this point the sweat was beginning to get in my eyes but finally we had just 5min to go!

Along the sea wall past all the benches with a view. Not that I could see either very well but I knew they were there!

With stinging eyes we finally finished next to an annoyingly closed café.

When I stopped the tracking we had run almost exactly the same distance as I did last night but at a much more even pace!

I'm very much looking forward to a couple of rest days before tacking my next run on a hopefully cooler Saturday morning!

Hopefully I'll remember to take a photo of the view next time!

Slow and steady and really try to avoid consecutive runs.... we need you at that podium, injury free:) Well done.

We can all find reasons why we have to run today rather than wait, sensibly, for an appropriate rest period to expire.........let's hope that your body understands the excuses. When you run you create micro tears in your muscles which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. No rest, no repair, no strengthening so increased injury risk.

You may well get away with it, or you may have to stop running to recover from an injury. It is your decision.
