Good running gone bad!

So..still struggling thru week 8..just abandoned run..did a bit..stopped ..tried to start again..useless!..

This is my second incomplete session..it is knocking my confidence. I am learning that it seems to happen on days where I feel overwhelmed with "stuff" to do..I'm busy at work..going away on a trip..and left my keys in front door this morning as so distracted!!

Hoping this isn't going to scupper me 🌬️

Hi Sofabunny - don’t be disheartened and try and focus on just how well you’ve done and come in the last few weeks. We all have days/runs when things don’t go as we wanted them to but dust yourself off and tomorrow is another day. It’s also very warm at the moment and as much as it’s nice to have sunshine it can be quite draining when working/running in it. Stay positive, don’t lose heart and remind yourself on why you wanted to do c25k - it worked for me 👍

Be gentle with yourself. Life is getting in the way and the heat is immense.

I would take a 2 day gap and try to run early morning or much, much later evening.

All of these practice runs will be helping build your stamina despite being incomplete.

Hi Sofabunny. How did week 7 go?

It sounds to me like you’re not struggling with week 8 - you’re just struggling with running at the moment. That doesn’t mean you can’t do it. It just means you’ve got a whole lot of other stuff going on. Add in the temperature today and it’s bound to be tough.

Don’t be too hard on yourself. You have done amazingly well to get this far. Every run counts like Jay says and it’s only a matter of time before you find your groove again.

You are brilliant and you’ve no need to think otherwise. You can do this and we’ll be here beside you every step of the way!

I did week 7 with no major problems..not saying I found it easy but completed it at same sluggish pace that I've been at throughout..did first week of 8 ok..but things not gone well since..I'm away for a few days now..taking a break from running until weekend. Im not giving up..may go back to week 7 ..

I really believe that it's about mental strength..and unfortunately I'm using all I've got coping at work at the moment..leaving me with no spare energy for toughing it out with running..
