So I was a little scared about this run after reading what other people thought of it.
With it being 21 degrees outside, I decided to go on the treadmill again. I’m actually a little worried about running outside again now - I completed all of week 5 in the gym too.
I actually didn’t find the running too bad, I think I may have overdone it a little this week though so need to calm down a little again now.
Annoyingly I tried to go into the 5 minute cool down but my treadmill wouldn’t slow down! Kept going at the 5.2 mph pace I was running at, took me a minute to realise though, I never normally struggle walking at 4/4.2 mph but this was ridiculous, tried slowing right down and still nothing and that was when it clicked. Even ending the program didn’t stop it 😂😂
Had to move to a different one to do the 5 minute walk, felt like a bit of a plonker 😂😂
Also I’ve realised how much music can affect my rhythm. I just whacked a courteeners album on thinking it’d be upbeat and really get me through (I’ve had odd songs come on during runs before and it’s been great) but a couple of slow ones came on and I really struggled with the rhythm. Then when an upbeat one came back on I was fine again.
Also it’s weird, I now just think ‘oh it’s only a 5 minute run’ compared to a month ago when, although I could run 5 minutes, I would’ve dreaded it!
