Having found the previous runs doable but hard work i went into week 7 with plenty of confidence. However 10 mins into a 25 min, which included an unscheduled cross-country section, i thought several times i would have to slow to a walk.
Instead i got a second wind and when Laura told me to stop (i was the far side of the park from the closest exit home) i thought nope - and kept going.
When i stopped my watch showed a time of 32:42, and i had finished my first 5K!
Now i know that the plan is setup to slowly increase to 30 mins (which i have stuck to religiously), but when you feel the runners rush & a personal goal in view, its hard to stop.
To all those who are in weeks 1,2 & 3 stick with the plan - it really does work. My hats off to you all.
I never thought 6 weeks ago i could run, but now i'm heading towards being addicted. Next goal is graduation & local parkrun!
