Started my run with sore knees yesterday, and as an oldie runner (50) should I be concerned.? Actually felt better after my run and knees are fine this morning..My friend said I will damage my joints by starting to run at my age 😕 but I am enjoying it.

I wouldn’t think so but if the pain is unbearable maybe it would be a good idea to consult your GP

If it's just a bit of soreness afterwards for a while, it's just your knees getting used to exercise. If it hurts when you're running or it's really painful afterwards then it's worth getting a local physio to give you the once over.

Starting to read what your body is telling you is a skill you'll pick up over time. Stick with it.

By the sounds of it you have nothing to worry about, but monitor the knees for the next couple of runs. By W5 you should be running niggle free :-)
