Week 3 Run 2...Is anybody else suffering the same and is it normal??

Run my second run of weeks three last night, and my shins and ankles are still quite achy and slightly shinsplinty.... Is anybody else suffering the same and is it normal??

It does happen... what we term, normal aches and pains... have you checked out the post for new runners.. lots of advice there?

Warm up really well and stretch after each and every run too... make sure you have the correct shoes and socks to:)

Try to relax into the runs and try to land lightly I call it kissing the ground with your feet:)

Are you wearing the right trainers. I started out in regular trainers, by the 4th run my knees and heels were suffering. I bought some running shoes that help with my over pronation, took a few runs to get them back to feeling ok.

Hi TrixabelleB, I did get some new trainers at W1 from a specialist running shop but didn’t do the gait analysis. Saucony ones, so they should be a decent shoe. I might take them back in and get the gait checked..
