Hi....I have just started posting with the grown ups on B210k, but I still feel like I have a duty to post on our lovely 5k page too....

Today I had one of the best runs since I became a runner...I’m saying this because, even if you are on W1 you have decided to make a massive change in your life & soon, in your ears, you will be told that ‘you are a proper runner’....for me, this took some sinking in let me tell you....ohhhhh I had my ups & downs, mostly downs, on my C25k journey...I had tears, tantrums, bad runs, disappointments & moments of complete despair....but eventually, & yes, it took me more than 9 weeks, I eventually became a graduate...there were tears, me? A runner? Nah.....someone’s got this wrong....yep, I ran for 30 minutes but I didn’t run 5k....posting on here saved me...I was repeating weeks 3 & 4 because I darent move on, I thought I couldn’t manage it, but I did, with the help of everyone on this forum.....it honestly does not matter how far you run, it’s about how long...5k will come eventually...fast forward to W9R3....this, and a few runs before, felt like an impossibility....but with determination, graduation happened & what a flipping feeling that is! For someone like me who lost her kneecap in a motorbike accident at age 15 & being told my leg would never be the same so has not even tried to run for a bus since then...here I am....a 5k graduate on the 10k plan compiled by ju-ju- ....& having just completed week 1, ending with a blissful 5.5km run today...I just want you all to know that anything is possible if you really want it...I have had my doubts about me being able to run 5k, but I have...having a pb of 38 mins at the park run last sat but I have knocked 2 minutes off that today...I have run 5.5k in 40 mins in the sunshine, beside the canal....perfect. So my message to you is.....if you really want it, you will get it, you just have to battle through the negative thoughts you might be having, your body is an amazing thing, your stamina will get better with every run, without even realising it, your breathing will be better & your legs will be stronger.....just believe that you have it inside your body, you just have to find it.....

And let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to be out there enjoying the beautiful sunshine & scenery??!!

Happy running my lovely running family

What a lovely post and just what I needed to read! I've been struggling on w7 for a couple of weeks now due to really high pollen levels effecting my asthma. However this morning I managed 25 mins and a quicker pace than I've done before. After reading your post I'm looking forward to my next run and getting fitter and fitter - thank you!

That’s fantastic...well done maxilib ...every post I put on I always hope that someone, somewhere will read it & want to get their trainers on & it sounds like that was your turn...I’m glad you had a good run...don’t ever be worried about being stuck on a week, don’t move on until you’re absolutely sure you want to & you’re ready, there’s no pressure on the time or distance it’s all about you & what’s best for you...listening to your body is important..you are getting fitter with every run...both physically & mentally...it’s a win win situation & im glad for all of us x

Such an inspiring post Mummycav. I’m on W8 and loving every run. I didn’t honestly think I’d complete W1 but now I’m a runner, I’m planning on moving up to 10k in due course. It’s good to know there’s more help available and I won’t have to flounder alone after C25K! Happy running 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Thank you IgaT ...I do hope you’re ok & still enjoying your runs? I know it’s hard to get motivated sometimes & hopefully, reading my post & remembering what it feels like when you have a special run like this one, will spur you on & give you a lift...that’s what I posted for, if one person feels better for it then it’s worked xxx

I am motivated for my runs, I occasionally have a great run. Your post is very uplifting. I struggle with believing that I can run for 30 min And / or 5k. Not that it matters hugely. I love running and I will keep running as long as my health allows. Maybe, maybe, one day in far future the unimaginable will happen ;)
