Hot, Sticky, Tired but Happy

My plans for using ZR5K as interval training have been put on hold as during week 2, I bolted as fast as I could for 30 seconds...and managed to pull a muscle in the back of my thigh. I finished the session but limped home during the free-form run, where I promptly had a drink, some painkillers and a hot bath to soothe everything back down. I rested for a day then went back out, trying to take it easy, but whenever I sped up, the muscle in my thigh would twinge and start aching.

Fine, I decided, nothing for it, use ZR5K as it's intended, build yourself back up with it. On the plus side, ZR5K does include exercises and stretching time, so I'm still working up a sweat.

Last night I came home from work, fed Mr Psycho, donned my kit and went out for week 3, session 1 and I've never been so sticky, not even when I started C25K! This week's session has knee lifts, I honestly felt a right wally or like I was prancercising around the carpark and whenever they came up, I hide behind the mountain of gravel, lest anyone think there's something wrong with me.

But I did it, I got home and soaked in the bath after I managed to peel my kit off (btw, Should clothes, even sweaty ones, make 'slerp!' noises when you do that?) I soaked until I was squeaky-clean and decidedly un-sticky again, even has Mr Psycho scrub my back for me.

Honestly though? I can't wait for the next session

Take care,

Mrs Psycho out xx
