So chuffed! Was really quite worried about attempting 3 minutes. I went with my sister (who could easily run 5k but, luckily, is very supportive) and smashed it. Was definitely not able to hold a conversation..but between Sarah Millican talking about not bouncing too much and my sister whinging about her awful day at work and Katie Perry insisting that actually its her that has the eye of the tiger, it went much quicker than I thought it would! I had a stitch after the second 3 minutes but deep breathed it away on the walk. I had planned a route that was a little longer than I previously done because a) I assumed that running for 3 mins at a time would take me further and b) I want to find an easy circular route from my house that is about 5k for the future. I was shocked that it was over so quickly and we were only about half way round so we ended up running/walking all the way home at intervals of about 3 mins but I wasn't measuring.. (I still did the usual 5 minutes warm down walk and a job lot of stretching in the driveway!) I found running with my sister makes everything so much easier, I didn't feel at all embarrassed and didn't alter my route because of other people once! I hope she comes with me again, but not every time as it's sometimes something for just me. I'm falling asleep writing this at midnight but wanted to get it down for my own memory as much as anything else.

Thank you. I find reporting back certainly helps with motivation and I have fond imaginings of reading it back when I've graduated. 😁
