I'm on w7 done run 1 yesterday and it doesn't get easier for me. Am I the only one? Each run is a struggle and I'm now wondering if I'll be able to to cope with week 8 and 9 😵

Nope you're not on your own! I'm about to start week 6 and finding each run really tough. I started it to help me with the running in crossfit but I still can't keep up with them! Feel like giving it all up

No one ever said it would be easy, but just take a second to look at what you have achieved from running 60 second intervals in wk1r1

Karukerajo, you’ve just run for 25 minutes with no walking breaks!

Begbiecat1, your last run was 20 minutes straight!

That’s amazing, both of you. a massive achievement, and if you’re anything like me, you never though you’d be able to do that when you were on week 1.

It’s the same from where you are now, you look at week 9 and think, “how will I ever do that” but you need to trust the program. It’s been developed by people who know science and fitness stuff, so I figure they know what they’re talking about. C25k has been going a few years too, so it must be working. Just now it’s laying the foundations for the future, little building blocks to take you from the couch to starting you off on a new life of running.

I bet if you were to re run wk1 r1 now it would seem real easy. I also think that if you run wk9r3 6 months from now that will feel easy too.

Begbiecat1, stick with it, you will get there. If the people you do CrossFit with are faster than you, so what. I imagine you’re faster and fitter than you used to be? Compete with yourself with the aim to beat each run. Improve yourself and ignore everyone else.

Trust the programme as it gets you there without realising it. I graduated a year ago snd have been running regularly since. I’ve just got back from running with my DH on his graduation run - it had been a long time coming as he has had some health setbacks but he got there in the end 👍🏼 Funnily enough I was reminiscing about how hard week 1 felt and how far we have progressed.

Focus on the week you are on and try not to think about future weeks - you will cope with it as and when. As YoureDoingGreatPet said “You’ve just run for 25 mins with no walking breaks!” which is fantastic 👍🏼😀

You are most definitely NOT the only one! I’ve just finished W7 this morning, and hand on heart, I can honestly say I have struggled through every run. But, I have completed them. Not fast and not pretty, but completed all the same. So then I have moved onto the next run. I WILL graduate, even if it’s just through sheer bloody mindedness. Then after graduation, I will carry on running my 30 minutes to try and improve my times, but until then, it’s just 1 run at a time.

Keep going! You did the run which is all that is asked of us and we will both get there!

Yay us! 👍👏👏
