Returning to the program - about to start the dreaded week

Hi all,

So a few years ago I started th C25K program and made it as far as wekk 4, before injury took hold and I gave up.

I'm now back, and this morning completed Week 4 - go me!

However that means I have the dreaded Week 5 to 'look forward' to.

Any tips for run 3 of week 5? Any idea why it suddenly increases the length of the run?

The only tips are go slow and keep going no matter what any voice in your head says.

Why the sudden increase? Because you are ready for it, my friend.

Hi there

I just graduated last week but remember this week well! I was terrified that couldn't do the 20 mins, but to be honest, I found it harder doing the 2x10 minute ones, as once I got into a rhythm it was harder stopping and starting again. Someone will be able to tell you the technical stuff about the run lengths but it does work, I'm proof! A lot of it is the mental challenge too, the power of positive thought and all that really does have an impact. Best wishes, I am sure you will manage. Let us know how you get on.

Well if anyone cares, I have completed run 3 of week 5. Surprisingly easy actually :-)

Oh yes that one! Haha! I’m on week 7 r2 and you’ll be surprised at how well you will handle the 20mins! Don’t stress it you’ll be so fine!! Remember to choose the route with downhill at the tail end 🙈that’s my trick!
