Was a bit apprehensive about running in daylight but evenings are getting lighter so had to do it.

Found it really hard and only managed 4 lots of 3 mins instead of 2 x3 mins and 2 x 5 mins.

Felt disappointed when i got home but then looked on strava ( i record each 'run') and found i had run too fast!! No wonder i couldnt manage it. Feel annoyed with myself for not slowing it down but must have felt people were judging me even if they weren't - i prefer to run in the dark!!

You'll have a long wait for dark nights! Generally people have too much to worry about in their own lives without giving more than a passing glance at others. Slow down, you know you need to, and look around you - you will miss the views in the winter. Try and be kind to yourself and enjoy the programme it makes all the difference.

Have you read the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You do not need to look at Strava to know how fast you should be running. You should be able to hold a clear ungasping conversation as you run. If you can't, you are going too fast. That speed will be individual to you and will increase as you get fitter. Strava cannot tell you that you are going too fast, only you can tell that.

Slow down. People seeing you who judge you on the speed that you are going obviously know nothing about running. Top elite athletes train at fast and slow paces, because that works better than going at your fastest all the time.

You are doing this for you. Don't worry what others think.

People really won't be judging you. I've never done any running before C25K but I've found that other runners and walkers I meet en route usually smile and say hi and general passers-by just ignore me. It's only going to get lighter so just go for it and enjoy seeing where you're going!
