After my arthritic knees complained a little to loudly after 7.2, I gave them a weeks holiday then treated them to week 6 again this week. Week 6 completed again and my knees enjoyed it as much as I did. Problem is 😠that I want to run everyday! Please tell me that a time is coming that I can do this everyday

Ooh.... gosh the big question. Apparently according to all common sense and runner’s wisdom, you have to be an ‘experienced’ runner, to do every day running - and from what I’ve learnt, that means pretty much having a year’s running under your belt.

Our own fantastic ju-ju- is on a 400+ day running streak - but she is one tough lady who has been running for a number of years.

The 10% rule is also a useful guide as to how much you should stretch yourself on distance.

I graduated last August and tried a seven day running streak in February - what I can tell you is doing over 5K each day, every day for that time, was hard and I lost a little of the love of the run - it felt much more forced.

The day of rest really helps your muscles and body to recover. I wouldn’t say I would never try it again, just not for a while. It’s natural and especially during the plan that the achievement of the milestones, gives you a high and you naturally want to keep getting that high daily. But for the time being, take it as it comes and benefit from the resting.

I’ve never seen a plan for building up to daily running yet - but I daresay there may be one out there.

Good luck and it’s so fab you’re enjoying your running.
