Stand back and with for the responses.. Yes there is...and the word is....Harm...

The programme is structured for a reason... howvwer you feel and however the runs feel..

Please, check out the post for New runners... tired and tested advice...posted by IannodaTruffe ;

...especially the section on How to run C25K...

A few folk have done what you are thinking of.. they either end up very injured, or usually have to give up and fall by the wayside.

There is so much to do on rest days to use up that wonderful energy.. climbing, cycling walking swimming.. or Yoga, Pilates, strength and flex and of course Squats !!!

So.. don't do it.. follow the plan.. do all the runs and Graduate having had fun and injury free.

Don’t do it!! The injury couch is SUCH a frustrating place to be! Our cardio and muscles develop ahead of our tendons, ligaments and bones. Even though you feel great, there are other bits of you which need to develop more gradually into a runner’s body. 😀

Possibly! Not worth risking it

I felt like you at the start but thought that the devisors of the plan knew more about running than me, so stuck to the letter. The more I have learned over the years, the more I understand the reasoning and logic of the slow and steady approach of C25k.

If you have not run in recent years then you need to know that running, unlike most other sports, causes particular damage to our muscles, which repair and strengthen on rest days, slowly increasing our resistance to injury as time passes. It is a slow process and cannot really be rushed.

If you are in a hurry, then maybe running is not the pastime for you. Of course the plan can be adapted and you may get away with it, but you will get considerably less sympathy asking for advice about an injury if you are not following the plan.

if you run every other day it is possible to complete C25k in just over eight weeks..........is that too long?
