All done👍

But note to self: running 30 mins after finishing a Pilates class is no good for Liz’s legs! Pleased to say I didn’t stop, but, Thighs burning now though😏. Two days off now before running again.

Well done on not stopping and managing to complete . I would suggest that you should keep the pilates for your non running ( rest ) days , you’re doing really well , keep it going 👍

Well done!! Yeah doing other exercise in the day can be a killer. I have done a gym day and run day together before and it's never good. You should be well rested after your two day break though, I love those runs when your legs feel all fresh and springy :)

30 minutes after Pilates is not a good idea as you muscles will have cooled off and started stiffening up. I would say either do your run directly after the class or a few hours later. Assuming you have been doing the Pilates for a while and are used to it, rather than have just started at the same time as the C25k, there is no need to give it up on run days. It is high ipact exercises you need to avoid. I wouldn't play squash on run days (or ever, actually), or dance class, but Pilates or yoga should be absolutely fine.

If you had asked, I would have told you so lol I remember going to a class of postural stretching (a bit like yoga) in the morning (I can't remember which week it was, W3 or W4) and going for a run in the afternoon. At the end of the run, during the warming down, I already knew that I would have to stretch my calves for the next days as I was feeling the beginning of a cramp. I haven't tried again! But well done for being so determined and brave!

Swap 'determined and brave' for 'a bit naïve'

But... Lesson learned, until I'm a lot more strong I will stick to "just" runs on run days. I'm not new to the Pilates, but today's class was particularly leg concentrated, so not really surprising I struggled. Thanks for all the advice everyone 😘

I'm new to yoga, and find it's great to use to stretch out post running. There seems to be lots of warnings floating around however about pre-run stretching, not to mention the fatigue you experienced!
