Starting week 8 today and not sure how it’ll go! Finished week 7 with great difficulty so worried about running 28 mins which seems like such a mountain to climb! Will post the outcome after the run. Fingers crossed 🤞

Can you run for three minutes?

Could you conceive in W1 that you could run for 25 minutes?

Add the two together and you are there.

Be positive, start slow, believing fully in yourself and you will do it.

We believe in you!!

Good luck, Dream-to-run. I was so keen to go out yesterday that I rushed home from work at lunchtime and went straight out. Not sure whether I was hungry, or not sufficiently warmed-up, or if going the opposite way round my successful Wednesday route is to blame, or because it was really warm (17 degrees) but I couldn't finish. My calves were really tired after 10 minutes and I managed to turn my ankle as I prepared to avoid a rock on the path. I stopped running and walked for a couple of minutes then did maybe 6 minutes more, but just hadn't got the energy. I'll try again tomorrow in the same direction as Wednesday.

Interestingly, I wasn't as crestfallen as the last time I failed - thanks to all the encouragement on here, I think. I've now accepted that 9 weeks is the minimum, but that we can keep going for as long as it takes. And I certainly couldn't have run for 10 minutes and then 6 minutes a few months ago.

Hope your run goes well today, although I'll miss being alongside you when you move on to week 8 run 2!

Hi Lizz,

I think we’ll probably finish alongside give or take a few weeks. This week I am only able to go today and then Monday. Not sure when I’ll get to do run 3 as husband is away and I don’t like to run in the dark and not an early riser either. Still trying to figure if I can start work late Wednesday and go in the morning. But that depends on how my legs cope post Monday. But regardless I like to hear how you’ve done as it definitely spurs me on and feel I’ve got a buddy to do it together with!

OK, so I’ve done it...... I think 🤔

Unfortunately during the run the plug of my earphones got pulled out of my phone and that caused the c25k app to pause and I didn’t realise until quite late. Luckily I go running around a 400 meters running track and had done around 9 rounds and was expecting Michael Johnson to say something. And when I checked how many mins to go saw that it had paused at 16mins in. So I did 3 more rounds which according to my calculations would have been roughly 28 mins! Atleast I hope so as could not have done another!

So hopefully run 2 will be more accurate. Thanks everyone for your support. It really does help to share.

I found w8 r1 OK. Slow but got there the extra 3 min's really didn't make a difference. Still struggling with first 6 mins
