W5R1 ... a bit cheeky on the 3rd run

So.... it was raining and I didn’t want to risk running in the rain. So went to gym and got on the treadmill. As I finished my 2nd 5min run, I thought I could push myself a bit on the 3rd and so ended up doing 8mins.

I am tired now, but a very happy bunny for sure :))

That's great that you are doing so well. Having something left to give at the end of a run feels great - not that it has happened to me very often! 😀

Advice from the experts ( so not me, I'm a beginner) is to simply follow the program even if you are feeling good and could run more - this is to reduce risk of injury. I'm sure a few extra minutes will not have done any harm, but don't make a habit of it! - The posts from people on the injury couch show clearly that it is a very frustrating place to be.

Can you do something else on your rest days to boost fitness if you are wanting to do something extra? I cycle or walk briskly in between my runs, also I do Pilates.

Thank you for that honest feedback. I was thinking that myself, especially with longer runs coming up in the future. I must confess I don’t feel as recovered as I normally feel by this time on my rest days. It could be psychological too, even more of a reason to stick to the plan

I do walks on my rest days and occasionally go for a swim too
