Hello everyone

Well, I'm still going! I've got week off work this week and it's a pleasure to be able to run in the daylight! Today, however, was my first run in the rain which wasn't particularly nice but I've done it. I struggled today with the fast run sections but I did my best and I'm still moving which is all a bonus.

During my run on Sunday I really struggled with my breathing. I did what I normally do but it just felt as though I was only using the top part of my chest and couldn't get enough air in. Any thoughts on what might have caused it? The cold weather, too much wine the night before or was it just one of those runs?

I've have similar problems when it gets cold - particularly if it's dryer than normal. It's hard to accomplish on a run, but sometimes forcing myself to yawn helps to get the breath deeper. If the problem persists, possibly check with your doctor about mild asthma?

Hi I was having trouble with my breathing in the cold and was advised on this forum to get a Buff. I got mine from Amazon and used it for the first time yesterday and it really did help. It is made of a thin breathable cotton that you put over your head and then pull it up over your mouth and nose and it stops the cold air making you breathless. I didnt wear it for the whole run just probably til half way then my breathing was more regulated and the cold didnt affect it. Probably worth a try xx
