Wow decided to nip out after work for a quick 15 min jog round the block before tea and it was sooo hard!! How can I go from 30 mins nice and comfortable to a quick whizz round the block on a freezing cold night and nearly have to have oxygen!! (Ok maybe I’m exagerating) is it harder in the cold cos I really struggled with breathing and achiness in the legs tonight

I find that when I run early in the morning when it is much cooler I need a longer warm up. Also perhaps you ran at a faster pace as you were only going for a quick run?

I did knock 2 mins off my average mile time tonight which is good but I think as it was so cold I was going faster than I normally would

I wasn't ready for the cold either and now I know! I felt like I was running through wet cement last week! Following on a longer warm up & stretching, lots of layers, gloves etc. and things improved dramatically! Winter's here!
