Back, and in positive mode

Having achieved my first Parkrun a fortnight ago, I’ve since been plagued by twinges and niggles in an ankle and a knee (different legs!). I was getting really frustrated, as I thought that if I didn’t get back to it soon, coupled with dark mornings etc, I’d be back to square 1 in no time.

So I took myself to a physio, who assured me I’d not torn anything or done anything drastic. Probably a result of not stretching enough, and, in trying to protect the ankle, maybe over-compensated with the other leg - hence tweaking the knee. But he did say ‘sensible exercise’ was fine, and not to ‘run-through’ any pain - ie know when to stop!

So today I took myself off, having given myself a good lecture! 10 mins walk, 10 mins max run, and 10 walking again. That felt fine (I’m sure I could have run further), and it still feels fine! 🤗

The boost it’s given me is tremendous. Next time I’ll maybe try 20 min run. I’ll soon be back to that 30 min, and hopefully another Parkrun soon.

Well done ... and well done for being sensible, better to increase gradually than blow it and be out of action on the IC.
