Pushed too hard this morning

Did week 8 run 1 on Thursday and still had some energy left in the tank at the end, so I kept running and managed a full 30 minutes instead of the planned 28.

So today, for run 2, I decided to push myself a little faster. Got to ten minutes and realised I’d gone out too fast so had to slow down or risk not finishing. Managed to keep going until the end but the final 2 minutes were tough going as it was all uphill. Got through my front door and had to sit down because the room was spinning and I was dizzy. I’m just glad i was so close to home when I felt like that.

Checked Map My Run to find my time had gonna down by 32 seconds per km from the last run to this one. Might sound good but no victory here as I pushed myself far too fast and far too hard. Lesson learned!

I think that most of us have had a run like that where we went off too fast. The important thing is that you learn from your mistake and keep it slow and steady (as Oldfloss would say) from now on.
