Week 10 and my first Park Run

Hi everyone

I'm still going! This week I started a 5k to 10k app. I've done 3 runs, including a 30 minute yesterday and it all feels good!

I'm doing my first Park Run next weekend and I'm feeling nervous! I've never run a route I don't know and I've never run with other people. Any advice?

HI

Yes... slow.... : )

After Graduation, a few weeks of consolidation of the 30 minute runs is essential really, to continue the building up the running legs, the stamina and the strength that C25K has begun... this is just the beginning.

So,, after that, with new routes and varying speed in those 30 minutes, moving onto another level, maybe C25K+ podcasts can be useful. These give us experience of the different disciplines in our runs.. and can really help with Speed and Stamina.

So... use the Park Run as a consolidation run of 30 minutes.. start slow and stay slow.. you may feel good, but the hidden injuries can still be there at this early stage.

There will be loads of help, guidance and friendship there, just follow the crowd, take your time and enjoy.

Yep, go along and enjoy the experience BUT don't get sucked in by the excitement of it all

Just run at YOUR pace, nice and steady don't race off with the crowd< there will be some competitive types there
