I’ve been doing till week 7 and finish run 2 last week but now have to rest as my good leg (left one) become kinda swollen and I couldn’t squat down nor bend it without small difficulty. It’s not hurting but very stiff (refer to attached picture)
Should I be worried that I did too much?
I’d like to continue this program so I can do my 5km run in December.
Appreciate any advise pls.

I get knee swelling from time to time (didn’t have anything while completing the programme!) I have some issues in the joint - the cartilage in my knee doesn’t recover the way it should. This has been ongoing since I was a child - but the stubborn swelling only started in the last few years.
It doesn’t seem to be triggered by an injury - I can’t identify a moment where I stepped painfully or twisted it - rather it just starts feeling stiff, or I wake up with the swelling.
I went to my GP last time it flared up, who put me on Voltarol tablets - on a slightly higher dose than the packet instructions recommend. Within 48 hours the swelling was gone. She also suggested that because there wasn’t an identifiable injury, rest, ice, compression and elevation would have a limited effect (I’d already tried them for a couple of days). She said to treat as arthritis!
It’s become quite a rare occurrence, but recovers quickly with her advice.
I’d definitely suggest getting to your GP or medical professional for some advice. Treat it well, and it shouldn’t prevent you from achieving your goals!
If in doubt check it out is the advice always on here, we are not medically trained and would hate you to miss out on crucial healing time. Things to tell the doctor are, if you have twisted it any time, not necessarily when running. It is so easy to forget a little twist off the pavement while rushing somewhere. Does the swelling come and go after movement and how painful is it? Take care, I hope you get some resolution soon.
I don’t think I twisted it as whilst during the training I went pretty slow.
No pain but the swelling has been a week now. My right leg is not good after two operations so maybe the force went straight to my good leg (left one) which is now swollen and stiff.
