Starting week 5 tomorrow or Tuesday and for the first time I'm feeling extremely negative.... Completed week 4 yesterday and felt good, ran further than ever. But deep apprehension has set in.... Help!

What's the worst that could happen? Staying at home, is what.

Just go slow and you'll surprise yourself :-)

You can do this, slow and steady, if you have come this far you'll get there no problem, think positive.. 😊

Hiya. Firstly, don't panic, we all have off days and down days - that's ok to feel like that sometimes.

Look at how far you've come and think back to how you felt before your first run. It's people like you that motivate newbies like me, when we see wha can be achieved. You've done really really well and are more than halfway through the programme - you can absolutely do this!! 💪🏻

I felt like this about WK5 but I can honestly say that this was the best week for me and I loved very run in it.

I started out by saying over and over "remember slow and steady" and then I began to think of the runs as how many songs do I have to listen to to get through this? And that is what worked for me!! How weird right? Still, I'm taking that and I am loving my running. Keep up the good work and remember slow and steady 😁😁

A lot of people worry about Week 5, but most are buzzing by the end of it and I'm sure you will be too! I think this is where the mental element of running starts to come in to play and we have to start dealing with those negative thoughts (gremlins!). As soon as you find yourself doubting, look at what you have achieved so far and trust in the programme. Don't engage with those negative thoughts - tell yourself you can do this, think of a positive mantra, imagine posting your successful run on here...anything that keeps you positive! Good luck!🙂

Don't you mean anticipation.... ????

Slow and steady and just do what you have been doing... run! You are ready for this... just believe it!
