.......guess a triathlon takes a bit of a toll on your body. Everything was creaky and stiff and uncomfortable! It's amazing how being physically and mentally tired really affects your stamina. I think, once you know you're capable of running 5k, you're more able to accept that a bad run is just that - a bad run. However, I know that in my early days of the programme, a bad run really affected me - as many of you will remember. Working long hours as I get ready for two weeks off work, my body is tired, my mind is tired. The plan is to spend ten days in Sicily, swimming and walking and then I'll be back on it and training for a 10k!!! I must also admit that only three days after going through hell in the form of the triathlon, I'm seriously thinking about doing it again!!!! I'm determined not to lose the fitness I've worked so hard to achieve!

That's the thing isn't it - we worked so hard to achieve what we have and it would be so easy to let it slip

Yes and I'm most definitely of an age were I really want to be as fit as I can be (especially with pesky grandkids to chase)

You bloody could, with what you've done so far in quite a short time you'd do it no probs

Either selfless masochistic dedication and obstinacy against the odds..............or total lunacy!!!

Go where you wanna go Rebecca! I admire you immensely, but have to admit that I do not begin to understand your motivation............mind you, before I did C25K, I believed that people ran to keep fit.

Vive la difference!!!!!

Lunacy! If I'd not made the commitment to the triathlon I don't know whether I would have stuck to the running. I work long hours - I think I need the commitment of something to work towards to get me out of the office and onto the streets!
