Well here we are at week 4 of the new Quest πŸ•ΊπŸ½. I can't believe how quickly this one is going!! How are you all doing?

I decided to call it this as we have experienced a lot of rain in the UK this Summer....!!! Some people love to run in the rain ( me!!!) and others don't... I think running in the rain can mean so many things: Having fun, enjoying nature, running through stormy times in our lives and also the chance to embrace something different to what we are used to. So I would encourage you to use this quest to go outside of your boundaries and try something different. Or if you are struggling, use it to re- energise your running journey and refresh your goals.

Welcome to Week 1... πŸ•ΆπŸŒ‚

What the quest is:-

The quest takes six weeks.

You can join any time within that six weeks.

The main aim of the quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

We ask that you are a graduate . The main reason we ask this is that while you are doing the program your plan is very structured, so we wouldn't want the quest to interfere with that.

Most popular goals are:-

To run three times a week

To slowly increase distance

To train for a specific race

To add In Stretch and strength exercises

As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.

Every week I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.

So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put:

I would like to join the quest, or count me in and then I would like to. ..............

Your name will be added for the duration of the Quest.

Good Luck everybody !

I've been waiting for this weeks thread to come up. Went out at 05.30 this morning for probably one of the best and more enjoyable runs I've had so far, a complete turn around to last week. As it is a lovely bank holiday I didn't have to get back for my Husband to head off to work so I ran 4 miles in 49.45! My splits being

Mile 1 - 12.02

Mile 2 - 11.49

Mile 3 - 11.55

Mile 4 - 13.59

You can somewhat tell I'm not used to going over 5k but my average came out at 12.26!! I'm lucky to get under 13 normally. So I'm on a high all round today.

Happy bank holiday people and happy running!

Three runs last week, one shorter than it should have been, but one which was 14k - hooray! Mind, I felt thoroughly broken the day after - went back to bed at 10am and slept for 3 hours :O And I still ache a bit in the legs. I was supposed to go for another 10k today but I'm putting it off until tomorrow :D

My stretching routine is a bit hit and miss. I just pat myself on the head on the days I manage to do it.

I was very pleased to tuck a run in this last busy week. Not sure I could honestly say if I'd had a yoga session! Maybe earlier in the week... it's all a bit of a blur. My but I've done a lot of walking. Pity Fitbit has got itself in a pickle so I can't gloat over only my second ever 20,000 steps badge.

I've had a week off after realising I'd been seriously overdoing things, and it's also been stupid hot - 37 C most days. That's set to change on Thursday, temps down to low 20's and lots of lovely rain! Hopefully the weather will stay cool enough for me to achieve my goal for this quest...

Had a better treadmill attempt today, I finished the full 35 mins. Seemed an up hill battle until I reached over 4.1km (when I gave up last time) and did 5.3km taking my total for August to 58.25km!!
