Well here we are at the start of a new Quest πΊπ½
I decided to call it this as we have experienced a lot of rain in the UK this Summer....!!! Some people love to run in the rain ( me!!!) and others don't... I think running in the rain can mean so many things: Having fun, enjoying nature, running through stormy times in our lives and also the chance to embrace something different to what we are used to. So I would encourage you to use this quest to go outside of your boundaries and try something different. Or if you are struggling, use it to re- energise your running journey and refresh your goals.
Welcome to Week 1... πΆπ
What the quest is:-
The quest takes six weeks.
You can join any time within that six weeks.
The main aim of the quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
We ask that you are a graduate . The main reason we ask this is that while you are doing the program your plan is very structured, so we wouldn't want the quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.
Every week I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.
So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put:
I would like to join the quest, or count me in and then I would like to. ..............
Your name will be added for the duration of the Quest.
Good Luck everybody !

For me- I have had a very stormy time in my life, so I am going to use this 6 weeks to re- energise my soul by finding some new routes in the woods and using nature to restore and renew me, and also to continue my running streak ( day 210 now!!)... good luck everyone π
Great idea for a theme ju-ju- ... and generally getting to grips with life as it actually is and fitting being active into that rather than some ideal but unreal picture.
In the light of that (and knowing what challenges are coming up for me in the period of the Quest) please sign me up with these goals
Mine is a fairly boring goal but with two young boys, a job, helping my husband run his business, the housework and all the forms and paperwork for my new upcoming job change my goal is just to keep running. To keep squeezing them in and getting out there.
But my quest this time is to run my 25th parkrun at Conkers on 19th August, one year after I ran my first one there.
And after that to get myself ready for my 1st 10km run on 9th September. My friend has predicted that I will take 1 hour and 26 minutes but I am not bothered about the time, I just want to do it.
Then I will continue my 3 runs per week, just building the speed up a bit
Goals are - gulp - to run around Carsington, to get up to 16k again and to get some running tourism in, even if it's only a couple of kms.
Also I *must* exercise other than running. I don't do this and it is causing me problems now on longer runs. I am not quite sure what stops me. Need to think about this...
Happy running everyone, and a swift recovery to all those on the IC or who are not able to run at the moment x
I love running in the rain - most surprising as I'm not what you'd call the outdoor type and much courage was needed to even venture outdoors at the start of C25K. About 3/4 weeks post graduation now and looking for inspiration. Some new routes, first park run and to try a slight incline as I live on the coast and have shamelessly enjoyed the flat nature of my runs to date!
Count me in. In a burst of enthusiasm, I've signed up for a 10-mile in October so I really need to focus on increasing my distances and not just on having a jolly nice time, which has been the focus of most of my recent runs...
I'm in please. I've had a rough time this summer with a bad reaction to some prescription medication, but I'm finally feeling almost 100% back to normal. It's coincided with another 30 day challenge on the Facebook group Kinetic Revolution, so I'm redoing that. On day 11 now! Getting my running strength back too, with some non-stop running as well as run/walks. I'm hoping to increase my distance a bit, but my main challenge is to do the race that I missed in April, well, do the route on my own. We're having some cooler mornings here now so soon I hope.
I would like to join your quest and as a new C25K graduate I just want to stick with running 3 times a week for 30 minutes moving up to 35 minutes by week 6 in preparation for a 5K run I have booked for October.
Thanks for doing this, it will give me something to focus on each week. π
