Try one breath in every four steps and one breath out every four steps and see how you get on. If the doesn't work for you, try it with two steps. If you find that you're still panting make sure you are concentrating on pushing the air out on out breaths as your lungs can only fit so much in! Keeping it absolutely regular is key to getting it under control. Some people need to breath more quickly than others so it's just a case of finding your pace. (Plus make sure you're not running too fast!!) Best of luck!

That was my biggest problem too. Breathing patterns only made it worse for me.

I simply slowed down and the problem went away! I

now regularly run over 10K and have to to keep reminding myself to slow down else I won't make it. As you get fitter you'll speed up naturally.

Hi, well done for completing W1, don't worry about your breathing just now.

Take a look at my reply in the previous post (Shugsiep). I've explained how I taught myself to breathe correctly.

The important thing to remember at the moment is keep it slow, slow, slow and trust in the programme.

You'll get there... Happy Running!

Just try and relax, listen to Laura's advice and take in more breath than you need and shorten your step....keep slow too 😎
