Restarted this week and ran my first Parkrun

Started the programme again this week as I've signed up for a Race For Life in July.

I decided to give Bolton parkrun a try today as my Week 1 run 3 and so glad I did!!.

Listened to Laura and then walked most of the rest of the way and finished in just under 50 minutes.

Lots of encouragement from marshalls and other runners

I am hoping the challenge of improving my time each week will be the motivation I need to finish the programme this time

Couldn't agree more - did my third Parkrun this morning. It's really great that so many people stay on to cheer in tail runner/walkers like me. I'm now in love with Parkrun and can't think of a better way to start a weekend. I'm at W5R2 this week and have got down from 50:33 to a PB today at 48:09. I originally set myself a target of 35:50 and now believe that even though it's still one hell of a climb I might actually make it.


Well done! You should find parkrun a great place for one of your sessions, which will be really motivating. I hope you make it through the programme this time. We'll all be here to cheer you on :) .

Good luck! I've just done my first park run & finally understand what everyone has been raving about! I'm sure the encouragement & regular training you get there will help you reach your goal.
