I've just downloaded the C25K app after overhearing a conversation colleagues of mine were having, about it. A little apprehensive but still eager to go. I've been battling with my weight on and off for many years and started doing a regular yoga routine about a year ago after a long bout of high anxiety and stress (during which I felt the Bootcamp gym I had been going to for three years was actually stressing me out more than it was helping me loose weight), so now I feel ready and that running would be a good addition to my life.

It pulled me out of an unhealthy lifestyle and attitude. Chances are it can do the same for you. :)

Read through the Forum and you will see that there is a huge amount of help, support and camaraderieship for you :)

Round here we may run on our own - but we never run alone :)

Thanks. It's nice to know that there is support for when it's needed :)

It will .... this is a great place to begin. Follow the programme, take your rest days, and most importantly, take it steadily and slowly.

The programme is intended to take you from start to finish, safely and enjoyably. By the time you complete the programme, and it make take you more than 9 weeks, ( which is not a problem:)). you will be able, hopefully, to complete your thirty minute runs.

Try not to focus on the 5K... that is not essential ( check out Irish-John 's 5K post :))

The physical and mental benefits of the programme are immeasurable for most of us... I feel you will find that also :)

Keep posting, for support, encouragement and advice. We are a forum family, and we run, as John says, alongside each other :)

So, welcome, and good luck!

I've found yoga and running to be a great combination. The yoga helps the running and the running helps the yoga so you've got a great foundation.

You only have the think about the next run - looks weeks ahead will feel impossible but there's no need to think about that until you're there.

I also do yoga and I totally agree a great combo - I also only ever thought about the week ahead and I don't think I ever thought I would run 5K but I did. My advice just do each week and you will get there
