First Parkrun ✔️ First Trail run✔️ First 6k ??

Despite the rain, the mud, the leaves, I went out and completed my FIRST Parkrun this morning. I'm so, so pleased with myself!

The thing that got me out in the bad weather was that Hidden and I agreed to a virtual Parkrun together for this morning, so no backing out, a pledge is a pledge, scouts honour and all that ✌🏼️.

I did it. I loved it ❤️☔️💦🌨. Ruth did it too, many miles from where I am but a great virtual run, thanks Ruth👍🏼

It didn't matter that it was wet, muddy and uneven ground. It's a lovely route through the forestry centre. So not just my first Parkrun but I think I'm claiming that as my first real trail run😃 . My Purple-power shoes are now a nice muddy colour😱

Not only that, I finished the 5k and then immediately ran/walked a further 1k making a total of 6k altogether. My reasoning for this is that part of my Rfc current Quest is to lengthen my run to 6k. I'd like to count this as covering the 6k, does it count do you think or am I pulling a fast one because I did a bit of walking?

My daughter and hubby had a lovely walk and cheered me over the line, along with many other runners who had already finished which was terrific! A slight surprise for them to see I can speak quite comfortably at the end of a run teehee!

The fast runners loop in the other direction whilst slower runners are still on the outward bound journey and it was lovely that many many of these took the time to say ' you are doing great, keep going'! 🏃🏻🏃🏼‍♀️😃.

Such a friendly and encouraging atmosphere, I am heading back there very soon.

Happy running everyone🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻🌨💦☔️😉

Great post and well done. Of course it counts towards your quest. You earned that 6km. 😀.
