I really shouldn't have used my old trainers. They're not old, per se, and they aren't worn but they quite tight fitting and boy do I have some blisters now.
I'm glad I can say that now I've finished, that's the only discomfort I have. It means this might be possible - when I find some proper fitting footwear.
Ouch... well you did the first run..running in trainers, even comfy ones can be painful as you found out
So.. rest up... get those blisters sorted and get come decent footwear ? You have made the hardest ( and possibly most painful) step... the first one... onward and upward
I bought some cheapo running shoes to start with but was surprised how good they were. Still are! Go for at least a half size bigger as your feet swell as you run
I got some Karrimor Tempo
Blisters! Eeek! You could put some Vaseline on them and smear some on before runs. Don't forget the back of your heels
Post run I have a hot bath with Epsom Salts chucked in, which is good for blisters, nicks, scratches etc and good for aching muscles.
