I started running on the road but my knees gave up, so I have to use a treadmill, I have just reached week seven. I am uncertain as to how to set the treadmill to simulate road running. At present I run at 2 miles per hour and use elevation 4. I feel that I should use higher settings. Help!

treadmill
I would have thought a treadmill was harder on the legs.
Your body gets stronger as you keep running. you get beginners niggles as your body becomes accustomed to exercise, if you are fresh off the couch
Running on softer trails is easier on the legs, and lovely this time of year ☺
Everyone is different and sets their own pace and elevation . I completed c25k with some very moderate speeds and inclines on the treadmill. I have increased speed a little since graduation and am adding some inclines. As the programme increases duration of running each week, I did not feel I had the capacity to increase speed aswell. But I also did road running, at least one per week, also to help with cvs fitness and balance etc. Running onside naturally increases your speed . You will know on the treadmill if it feels to slow as you feel you are running into the front of the machine. You can try speeding up for the last couple of minutes on a treadmill run to see how it feels. Do your own thing.
