Just completed my week 9 run 2 run; having covered 5.2 km in 34.29.

It felt slow, but compared to the previous runs it was reasonably good....

Anyway one more run to graduation!!

I can't for the life of me get under 30 minutes for the 5K either :P

But.... at least we are out there. Good luck on your graduation run!

That's a great pace for week 9. I could only dream of that only just doing sub 30 and I graduated summer 2015

It isn't slow...most graduates never reach 5K by the end of nine weeks...or, if they wish to achieve that , for a long time afterwards.

Many are quite content with having achieved the nine week target of running for 30 minutes, comfortably and enjoyably, and just carry on running on their own paths...Each of us have our own targets and our own challenges. You are running your runs and are enjoying them...doing well... and getting where you want to be. Brilliant :)

But your run is certainly not slow :)

Onward and upward ! The badge is being polished...:)

Okay

My apologies

Reading the replies and rereading my post, I clearly didnt express myself well enough.

Whilst I was out running, it really felt a slow run; my lil legs heavy and all that jazz, and I was not expecing a particaulry good time.

Yet when I had showered and eaten lunch, I looked up my previous times and it was faster than it actually felt.

I apprecaite that many would love to have a pace as nimble as that :)

I call that treacle legs when it happens to me... :) I use 5K as my short run of the week... still trundling along at 28 minutes... suits me... the old Grey snail... :)

Well good fo ryou young Floss.

I know Ican get my time down to below 30' for 5 klicks. But that will only really happen when I have lost a few bags of sugar/rice from around my waistline.

I need to decide what my next target is next week; as part of the 6 week quest thingie.

Options include

Maintian running 3-4 times a week

Swim/walk on non running days.

Be more disciplined in carrying out those strengthening exercises for runners.

Walking to the pub every evening :-)

Well.. apart from the last option...:) They all sound great!

I run three times a week as do many of us... a short run, a fast run and a longer run...( still going for my second 10K)... plus on 'rest' days' I cycle, walk, sometimes do strength and flex...and do general busy things like gardening, moving boxes into lofts... etc etc... ( I do yoga every day) and I am using my new toy a cross-trainer to try to improve my core strength and stamina..that is great fun... :) Cor, I feel tired now I said all that :)

I am really fortunate??? in that I dislike being still, unless I am painting or writing!

Also very fortunate in being old and retired... :)

PS' Loving the Young Floss.. :)

Walking to the pub every day and back (so four miles) sounds a good exercise regimen :)

But...is the beer? Helping to move your sugar/rice bags? 😉

I found that once I started not worrying about times I got better.
