................ for running then this was surely it. With no work today I went out about an hour later than usual. It was a glorious bright, sharp autumn morning, just perfect for a run. The only concession that I made to the drop in temperature was to wear a long sleeved top. As I set out I had no idea what kind of run I would aim for this morning. My other two runs this week had been my longest distance so far, 7.9K while the other had been a shorter faster run.
My legs felt great as I started off this morning and the pace felt good so I kept going. I added a couple of little extra bits to my run. I still run to the week 9 podcast and when it ended it continued on to week 1. I let it play on. Then when Laura announced that it was time for the one minute run I upped the pace and then at the walking sections I returned to my jog. So not only was I able to work on my stamina I was able to do a little speed work too.
Just to compare my two long runs this week: Monday distance 7.9K, pace 9.05 mins/km, Saturday distance 8.2K, pace 7.45mins/km. It may not be far or fast but it represents great progress made. On the 22 June I recorded running 3.36K at a pace of 9.07mins/km. I think a new pair of trainers are in order. Don't you?
I have never felt so good at the end of a run. This running thing is just getting better and better.
The only thing that hasn't changed much is my weight. I am still about 3 stones overweight. If I could only shift some of that there would be more scope to improve my performances.
Sitting on the sofa (note I didn't use the "C" word there) last night I registered for Park Run. I am not sure yet that I will go along to one.
Happy runnings.

Very well done... I am loving these mornings... it sounds like a super run.
Weight wise.... the running seems to help some folk and others not... you are eating healthily i suppose... smaller portions... and bigging up on the green stuff etc... ?
My husband, who is Type 2 Diabetic...( and I) follow a sort of combination eating regime... Low Carb / Mediterranean.
We use elements of the Michael Mosley, ( Trust me I'm a Doctor..TV bloke) Blood sugar diet/ recipes, which are great!
He has lost a stone.... I have no need to lose weight, but it keeps me healthy! I stick at 9.4... I am lucky I have also... for my runniversary treated myself (us) to a great cross-trainer... that is helping his weight loss too, and sorting out my 'runners breathing tummy'..
Works for us Probably no help to you...but just ideas.
New shoes definitely, photo will be required of course. In addition to running I am also following a healthy eating plan - move more, eat less. Despite several holidays I have lost half a stone up in 9 weeks 😃
