Not a great start but staying optimistic

My last post was about me about to start W2 but the day I was due to start, I awoke with chronic pain in my heels - could hardly walk. A bit of investigation and some great advice from my marathon running niece and I decided that I needed to rest not run through this :-)

So after a few days rest, wearing the right footwear and some focused exercise and stretches the pain has gone...

Been reading up on beginners running style ( I was hitting the ground hard with my heels), post running stretches and some supportive new shoes, I feel ready to start with Laura again Monday.

Going to walk the dog gently today and tomorrow and am keeping up with the Strength and Flex exercises

Have also taken all your great advice on here about slow and steady and have finally accepted that I am not the new usain bolt :-) and that I must build up stamina....

Bring on Monday :-) with my new mantra - slow and steady

Great to hear that the injury is healed- you definitely did the right things to help yourself recover.
