I promise I am not a stalker :-), but I do enjoy stats and seeing other people's runs is helpful and entertaining.
So, if you would rather not then that is absolutely fine (of course!) but if you feel like 'connecting' then I look forward to seeing you on GC.
If you want to invite me on GC then great, or if you post your username here then I (and potentially others of course) can issue the invite.

Thanks 90ldfinch . Unfortunately, searching GarminConnect seems to convert '_' to spaces so it didn't find you but did find hundreds of others :-(. Would you mind adding a connection request to me please (yatesco)
So the downside of this is I am watching me going further and further down the leaderboards at Garmin! I jest of course. I mean, I _am_ being pushed further and further down but that is only motivating me :-).
When I was looking the TomTom Spark (Cardio and Music) ticked a lot of boxes for me, however the optical HRM doesn't get great reviews and I seem to remember GPS being a bit dodgy (all second hand from google).
Garmin, on the other hand, has a fantastic web site for breaking down all the stats and exporting to far-off places like Strava, SmashRun, RunKeeper, MyFitnessPal etc.
In terms of hardware, I get the impression that you should avoid like the plaque anything Garmin releases for the first few months as they release very buggy software but they do keep refining it over time. TomTom OTH seem to release pretty good software but don't add any new features.
Without a doubt I would chose Garmin now, but as I say, Garmin stuff is from personal experience, TomTom is from google.

yatesco invite sent same username as here. Just out of interest I only use Garmin to feed to Strava as the information seems better presented on Strava. If anyone using Garmin Connect has Strava does it automatically feed through or do you need to find them on Strava too. If so anyone who's doing this and also has a Strava name they may want to post it too. Like you I'd be Interseted in seeing how others are getting on especially since I've only started this week. Not on Garmin Connect, so can't help you out. I am on Strava. There is a C25k club on Strava which you can join ( I'm on it ) to see how people are getting on
