Last Monday I did W4R1 it was a beautiful morning and the run went well. I worried that five minutes is a big jump up from 3 but actually it was OK. Today W4R2, dull drizzly morning, did my 5 minute pre-warm up before I switch Laura on. Did Laura's 5 minute warm up then started first 'run' (all my runs should be in inverted commas because they are so very slow), the damp weather has brought out all the slugs and snails so the pavement was a slimy obstacle course. Then calamity, I had an equipment fail, my MP3 stopped working.What to do? I chose to continue running as best I could remember and just do the proper W4R2 on Saturday next. However, I was running along and counting seconds when I suddenly found I had been thinking about something else and had been running for ages (well, about 10 minutes). A few more runs and walks and I was back home, I'd been out for 50 minutes. The title refers to the point of running. In the past any one of the excuses I could have used this morning would have been pounced on gleefully to give a good reason not to run but today they were all ignored, I wanted to run and I don't ever remember that happening before, not even last time I graduated. So I'm a very happy but wet runner.
