Gutted...

I was due to start week 5 on Saturday and was really looking forward to it. But, playing 'it' with my children on Friday night in the village square has put pay to that. I have a torn calf muscle, couldn't walk for 2 days and am now hobbling around. I am really frustrated about not being able to do my runs, I was feeling so positive about it. Although it does seem to have been improving pretty quickly it seems it will be a minimum of two weeks before I'll be back to running, more likely four.

Does anyone have any advice on what point to start back at? Will I be able to go back in at the beginning of week 5 or should I drop back a couple of weeks?

se how you are when its better. It's frustrating, but worst case scenario you will only have a couple of weeks to catch up. Running's a lifetime thing. A couple of weeks seems a lot now, but it isn't in th egreater scheme of things.

Oh, no... poor you :( I'd say you'll have to play it by ear... probably difficult to decide now. Maybe try one of the week three runs when you start back and see if your calf asks you to stop or not... If not, try one from week four next then start week five on the next run? The hardest bit will be the waiting - I'm sending you a little of my stock of patience to help you along, and for the rest, I guess you'll be playing with your kids, but try Monopoly this time, it's safer :D

I'm what you would probably class as an amateur jogger - I dip in and out of it over the years. Anyway, whenever I take a break from the C25K, either through injury or just can't be bothered, I always start back at week 2. If wk2 goes well on day 1, then wk3 on day 2 and so on, until a reach a point where I struggle, then I'll do the three sessions for that week and take it from there. Hope that helps.
