Week 6 run 2 done

Ok, I am an old timer on this one. Last year I started Couch to 5K and went as far as week 7. I should add that I injured myself from about week 2 and kept running without taking advice. When I did I had the dreaded Plantear Fasciitis and have seen a physio to get the muscles going. I restarted Couch to 5k at the beginning of the year(yes I know I am not going with the plan that I should do). I still see the physio and the year or so of rehab has got me to this point. To be honest, the main changes I need to make is to the music I run to. Unfortunately Vangelis' Chariots of Fire is ok for the early runs but not later on. I think Beautiful Day by U2 has to go as well. Anyway, the run today was good but it was the last of the runs where I can take a break between runs. It's straight runs from here on in and thankfully I can keep saying to myself that I have done it once so I can do it again. Muscles felt tight but I stretched the calf muscles before and after the run to ensure that they did not seize up later on in the day. Last weeks end of week 5 started with one of my calf muscles seizing up within a minute of the run beginning. I am hopeful that the 3rd run this week does not produce the same result.....onwards and upwards...

  • Best of luck! I am at the same stage and building myself up for the 25 minute run at the weekend. I will miss Laura telling me to slow down!
