Pain in the back of my leg

Hi all,

Finished week 7 run 1 this morning (still can't believe I'm doing it) and whilst I am really pleased with my progress - managing sub 10 minute miles - I've got a nagging pain in the back of my lower leg. It's to the side of my Achilles tendon and feels like a bruise if I touch it.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a bruise....... Most of us on here are not medically trained and even those who are probably won't give specific diagnoses. Have you tried icing it?

I don't know your age or history, but C25k really is not about pushing hard, rather more gently progressing and increasing your stamina and endurance. Pushing too hard may cause injury. All that said, I know when I was at your stage, I was trying to go as fast as possible, but I hope I would have had the sense to ease back if I had an injury. Take care.

Thanks - it feels like a bruise but no evidence of one. I'm really not pushing it - covering 2.9 miles in the whole week 7day 1 podcast - so that includes 10 minutes walking. Actually think I'm going really slow, more like a walk with a bit of a bounce.

Should do run 2 tomorrow but think I will give it a miss and see how it feels on Friday morning.
