Another Manchester 10k success...

Hi everyone... what an amazing day!

I can see why people get so addicted to running. Can't believe that having graduated from C25k in December, I actually did the Manchester 10k today. It was the first time I've managed that distance, and I was a few minutes faster than I expected- despite the cold I've had this week and the millions (well, thousands) of other runners competing for road space!

I'm so thankful for this forum which had been such an encouragement over the last few months, especially in days when I haven't felt like getting out of bed and going for a run in the dark before work.

Well done to everyone who has stepped out of their front door (or onto a treadmill!) today as a result of C25k- I think it is absolutely amazing to read everyone's stories and progress :-)

Definitely... I know it's quite expensive compared to other runs but from my experience, everything ran so smoothly- I have no idea how they make it work for so many participants and spectators. The bands were great, and loved the friendly water people, showers and jelly babies!

Very excited about my first medal... can't help wondering what next...!

Yes I agree, it was very well organised . 40,000 runners and there must have been 60, 000 packed into Deansgate at the end . It was amazing !

There is a " We Love Manchester " 10k in July that starts and finishes at the Man City stadium. I was going to do that but I am doing a 10k in Leeds on the same day. I think there is a couple on here that are doing the Manchester one .

Its all very exciting isnt it ? :-) xxx

Congratulations. It can get a bit addictive. But at least it keeps you healthy at the same time.
