Hi all - I went to watch the local half-marathon today as both my husband and daughter were running. It was sort of inspiring but also rather depressing. I ran for 15 minutes today in 3 steps, the people this morning were running for nearly 2 hours and even longer! I guess it is a starting point though and I do feel stronger each time I run. Seems a long road ahead though.
Well done to all those who have completed 5k, 10k and half marathons this weekend but also to those who ran just a little longer than they did last time. One step at a time I guess.

I am only 4 weeks ahead of you in the program and ran for 42 minutes non-stop today - I would have bet quite heavily against that happening just a few months ago. Just take it steady and you will make the same sort of progress.
I guess it would be quite easy to be envious of all the 10kers, HMers and the Parkrunners who post about their achievements but they are generally much further into their running journeys then we are. Better to be inspired by them.
If you read posts on here about half marathons and such like you will see that some are managing a half within a year of getting off the couch, so it's not long at all.
Just think about what you can do, not what you can't! Think positive about yourself and what you've achieved already.
You can't become a marathon runner overnight. Those people you were watching today have put many, many months of training into that one race. If you're fresh off the couch you just have to keep plugging away, slow but sure, run by run. It's well worth it, honestly
Hi Pip, great to hear that you OH and daughter were running in the local HM. Please do not be depressed. Dunder has it right, and so do you: one step at a time and you'll meet your goals, too.
