Well I should have graduated today, but the last two runs I have only managed 28 mins. I did 30 mins on Monday covering just under 4k, I can't imagine getting to 5k in 30 mins. I have my r4l on Sunday, so hoping I can push through and at least finish it front of the walkers!
Its so hard!!: Well I should have graduated... - Couch to 5K
Its so hard!!
You graduate when you have completed the runs.
Thanks. Just having a bad week with the runs. I'll feel better when R4L is done and I can continue improving at my own pace.
Wait a minute "the last two runs I have only managed 28 mins." ONLY 28 minutes? Can you imagine saying that 8 weeks ago? You're doing brilliantly
I think you might be trying to push a bit too hard. Don't worry about 5k in 30 minutes.
Enjoy your RFL, and either notch down your pace a bit or just tell yourself you're going to have some running intervals.
Then go back to W9, slow down, and you'll be fine.
I too am doing R4L on Sunday & my goal was to do 5km in 30 mins - but when I started I struggled torun 1 min- I still look like I'm dying from 1 min to 30. I'll be very pleased as long as I'm under 40mins. So doing 4km in 28 is brilliant - well done xx
Hey Puddy keep the faith!! My first 2 runs of week 9 were terrible. I set out on my final run with more than a little trepidation and guess what - I absolutely smashed it - my first full 5k in 30 mins!! You CAN do this. 28 mins of running - bet you didnt think you would be able to do that a few weeks ago, did you? Enjoy r4l and I look forward to seeing that graduate badge appear very soon
Please don't get hung up on the 5k in 30 minutes thing! It's something to aim for and no more. It took me ages post graduation, but I got there eventually and when I was ready. Running for 30 minutes for any distance three times in week 9 makes you a graduate and you can feel completely proud of yourself when you've done it!
Good luck with your r4l, I am also doing one today.... Do not worry about doing the 5k in 30 it is about completing the 5k and yes, you will beat the walkers, keep going
