Tut tut! I said I was going to run on Tuesday morning after a promising start to February on Saturday and Sunday but I stayed in bed instead! It seems I have ZERO willpower to get up when the weather is so wet and windy (so stupid really as I'm running indoors on my treadmill!). It just sounds so awful and depressing out there.......

Anyway the BF had to go somewhere after work tonight so I was home alone. I had been thinking throughout the day that I might try a run tonight but wasn't 100% committed so it was a case of seeing how I felt. After a quick power walk home, I got changed straight away and hopped onto the treadmill. Once again I set myself a small target of 15 minutes at 5.0mph but the first 5 minutes were horrible! My legs felt like lead (so different to how they feel during a morning run) and I really didn't think I'd manage the 15 minutes. But I got into a rhythm (sort of) and I ended up doing this:

5 min warm up walk

10 mins @ 5.0mph

1 min each @ 5.1 / 5.2 / 5.3 / 5.4 / 5.5

5 min walk

1 min each @ 5.2 / 5.3 / 5.4 / 5.5 / 5.6

5 min walk

2 mins @ 5.4

3 mins @ 5.6

5 min cool down walk

Total of 3.5 miles in 46 min 22 sec - total run time of 25 minutes

Am very pleased but very achey!

Night all xxx

It is difficult at this time of year. But good for you your still keeping those muscles working and your not on the couch. That is the main thing. When the weather changes you will be fit enough to just get out there rather than starting again. Happy running.
