...I'm feeling really miserable about how little I could run. I was all mentally prepared for it after reading other people's posts on the forums about how they bounced back after injury. I knew it wouldn't be easy so I decided to aim for 20 minutes non stop but could barely manage 15 and was extremely tired afterwards. Really disappointed and reckon it's going to take about a month to redo what two weeks has undone :(.

Try not to be too despondent roadrunner. I was off for three weeks earlier and found it really, really tough coming back! Like you, I couldn't manage much even though I deliberately started out slow and with only short intervals.
Eventually though, it all started to come together and I am (was...) back stronger and faster than ever...

Until now...I seem to have picked up a thigh strain, and it looks like I'm sidelined again!! But at least I know I will be able to get back - I'll just have to go back to building strength and stamina slowly but surely. Don't be in a rush to get back to where you were - it will take time and if you push too hard, you're likely to get injured again.
Go back to maybe 5/10/5 minute walk/run/walk/intervals, gradually increasing the running then decreasing the walking over a couple of weeks. I think that's what I might have to do if this strain persists.
Oh the joys of becoming a runner....
