What happens when they put the oximeter on your finger? Do you wear nail polish as that can sometimes effect the ability to get a reading? They can also do arterial blood gas as well.

No nail polish. No acrylic nails. Doctor think it's either Raynauds, peripheral neuropathy. As my hands and feet are always cold. Even in 90° weather. And often almost daily turns a blueish, purple, grayish, almost black color. And it can be very painful at times. Doctors said this was likely caused from lung cancer treatments or being put on high doses of prednisone for Radiation Fibrosis in my lungs.

What does your doctor say about this?

Unfortunately, because of my other health issues he wasn't helpful at all. I think possibly because he sees to many patients. I haven't spoken to my general practice doctor yet. She may have some ideas.

I wear a watch that monitors heart rate, blood pressure (although taking blood pressure on the wrist isn't the most accurate), breathing rate, O2 level, and sleep. I have checked the O2 reading against my finger pulseox, and it seems to be accurate. I purchased my watch (the VM 6 elite) on line about 3 years ago from veteranmerchandise.com and no I do not get anything if you buy from them. They are the only place to get this watch that I have been able to find. They are a bit expensive, about $80 US on sale, but to me they are worth it.

Thank you. Who makes this? This sounds like exactly like what I need.

Warm your fingers up before you try to get a oxygen level ... it works best with warm !!

Something on your nails? Try earlobe.
