Here we go again!

In a few weeks I will be having a baseline skin evaluation. I have been encouraged by my wife to do so, since she is recovering from melanoma surgery. Her surgery, thankfully, was successful. Since I understand that I will be partially uncovered for this exam, I am wondering if I should message the doctor a little of my health issue. I am incontinent, and need to wear diapers. I have a long history of poor bladder control which has been acerbated since my prostate cancer surgery...complete prostatectomy including the removal of a large diverticula. In addition I recently had back surgery, and under a series of medications for heart failure which have contributed to my incontinence problem. I get quite nervous/embarrassed when a new doctor sees that I am wearing a diaper. Is it proper to give them a little heads up so as not to cause any uncomfortable situations? Thanks for any advice.

Whenever my husband needed to see a new doctor, or have to remove clothing, we always informed the nurse and physician about his incontinence and need to wear an incontinence brief. They were ALWAYS just fine with it and said that "you aren't the only one" and that it was never an issue or problem. We always felt giving them a heads up was better than awkward surprises.

IMHO, I don't think doctors care. In fact, I'm sure they appreciate one not dripping all over.
