I'm aware that Hirchsprungs disease is usually diagnosed as a child but are there any cases of an adult being diagnosed? I'd really appreciate any information on this.

Thanks :)

Hi Kirsty - Yes you can, it not very common at all but it is a possibility. What can happen is that a small area of the bowel maybe affected but the other part of the bowel can 'push' everything through. This can obviously cause constipation. Usually babies are diagnosed very early on as their tummy become swollen and bloated. I hope this helps and if there is anything else that I can help you with then please do not hesitate in contacting us again. regards Ostomy Lifestyle
